What was the highlight of Pickalbatros Sea World Resort

Amazing relaxing stay with our children and friends.

Most of the people have a great service attitude, with a very big smile, willing to help and give the best experience to guests. Everyone from reception, managers, Yousouf -the room keeper- and with a very few exceptions from the servers had an amazing helpful and service attitude. We got a great room with a semi-private pool just in front. The cooking chef was always around with an amazing attitude, making sure that the food was readily available and always a smile and helping guests. Our preferred restaurant was Culina, that offers seafood. We would have appreciated to have more options of local food. Instead, it was very international (which might be the preference of 99% of guests, predominantly Czech and German). We loved the Egyptian culture and the few trips/activities we did (snorkeling, sunset view with the quads, and facials in the spa). Thanks to the whole team for this amazing week with our kids (9 and 7) and our friends, also a family with young children.

The experience exceeded all of my expectations for our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, the staff at the resort were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The restaurant staff and housekeeping team, in particular, went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. Their warmth and attentiveness made our stay truly special. The resort itself is a masterful creation. The crystal sandy beach was simply breathtaking, and the variety of pools, including the new aqua park, added an extra element of fun and excitement. We found ourselves constantly exploring and enjoying the different areas of the resort. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible dining options. With over 5 restaurants to choose from, each offering a unique culinary experience, we were spoiled for choice. Every meal was a delight, and we found ourselves eagerly looking forward to trying different dishes. And let's not forget the luxurious cafes! They provided the perfect setting for us to relax and enjoy some quality time together. What truly sets this resort apart is its ability to cater to different moods. Whether we wanted a tranquil and peaceful environment or a more active and vibrant atmosphere, the resort had it all. We loved how we could easily switch between the two, depending on our mood and desires. In fact, we were so enamored with this lovely place that we made the decision to extend our stay. It was impossible to resist the charm and allure of the resort. We wanted to soak up every moment and create lasting memories in this paradise.

A great stay, even if...

The resort is really great: - large spaces, constantly cleaned, both the common areas and the rooms, really very spacious and arranged daily - good quality of food, especially in the Saffran restaurant which every evening offers a different barbecue with an eye to the local culinary tradition (the other restaurants have an international and repetitive cuisine, with dishes that are always the same, but suitable for those who do not have a food culture and is satisfied with little). The corner of typical Arab sweets set up by a friendly chef is excellent (congratulations for the quality of the product and service!) Every evening at the Saffran restaurant (the other dessert buffets are very banal) - one of the few resorts that has swimming pools where it is possible to really swim and not just cool off (even if the water waste is considerable) - the excursion service inside the hotel is expensive, but the quality is very good - the presence of a well-stocked pharmacy with an extra security guarantee - per gli italiani: è un resort destinato a polacchi, cechi, slovacchi, (ucraini e russi prima della guerra), etc. Pochissimi turisti dall'Europa occidentale (in prevalenza tedeschi). Per noi questo è stato un vantaggio per evitare l'"atmosfera villaggio alpitour", ma per altri può essere un problema. L'animazione (davvero molto limitata) è solo in inglese e in lingue dell'Europa dell'est.

I would like to point out two negative aspects: - I was in this resort during the time of Ramadan (april 2022), and every evening the guardians who control the south entrance of the beach (no activities area of the beach) after having eaten their meal threw the rubbish (plastic trays and cups placed in white plastic bags) just beyond the hotel fence, ON THE BEACH. UNACCEPTABLE behavior. It is known that in Marsa Alam there is always wind and it is clear that that waste will soon end up in the sea. Two plastic bags every evening: after a month of Ramadan that corner of the beach will be a landfill. An incomprehensible attitude since there are litter bins 30 m away. The hotel management should take action to prevent this bad habit from continuing. I personally cleaned the beach of litter during my stay: the resort should take care not only of the pools, but also of cleaning the shoreline. - the rescue point on the beach should be better signaled and should be quicker in the intervention: I happened to witness the accident of a guest who got injured on the coral reef (a deep bleeding wound), but I hardly managed to getting the attention of a rescuer. The beach boys of the hotel are more concerned with distributing towels and drinks than with rescuing those in need. - the staff at the reception and most of those at the bar counters are not at all nice and helpful: it always seems that the customer bothers them. Their responses are often rude and hasty. - it is forbidden to leave the confines of the resort, even just to take a walk on the beach

Relaxing, kind a cold because of the season

Second visit to Albatross for spring break, really nice place to be but I guess with a bit more effort in details it can be way better. We went with my three kids and my wife. So we had the sea view family room which indeed has a great view. The room was super spacious and easily fits the 5 of us. There are many pools around, really beautiful, but for march most of them are too cold so you need to use the heated ones and they are very crowded. The beach is really nice but for march is super windy (nothing to blame at the hotel about that). The meals were ok, there was good food, but nothing really outstanding, desserts were reused from the day before. Staff was very friendly and helpful. In general a good stay, we drove from Cairo, as I work in Egypt, but for Marsa Alam I'm going to look for something different for next time.

The food, the price considering I had to pay for my 14 year old which was expected but it was a bit higher than I anticipated. Probably the hotel feels much nicer with a different weather.

amazing hotel

hotel was amazing, new, many pools, snorkeling with very nice view, huge reception, room is big, staff always smiling and cooperative, restaurants working all the day from 7 am to 12 pm , front office fast response , big pharmacy

food quality is not high specially deserts , hotel is far from airport and far from any market, air condition is not good, 6 restaurants but with same meals, entertainment is bad ( only 10 minutes program daily )
